🐍🐍🚨🚨FIRST LOSS OF THE SEASON AGINST THE HURRICANES🚨🚨🐍🐍

On the 9th February 2019 the MK Hurricanes visited the snake pit for the first time in over 7 years. The previous meeting saw the Cobras shut out by 13 goals to 0.

The Cobras started the first period very much on the front foot. Stuck in the MK end for most of the first 10 minutes. Nettie Chris Jenkins held our boys at bay with some world class saves. Even with all the pressure the rec giants found a way out with a well played counter and game opener at 10.01. With the Cobras sitting a 4 on 3 Pk the Mk team took advantage of the space and put another one away. The period finished this way with a 2-0 advantage to the Canes.

The second period saw no difference in start. The Cobras struck on the PP to half the score in the 26th minute. First Cobras goal from 83 Danny Barker and assisted by line buddy 68 Carl Bell. No more than 2 minutes later and with the MK team serving another penalty we put our PP statagies in to play again. 39 Ash Cathcart taking advantage of the space around him with a great screen and well placed shot. The MK team felt the pressure and came back with speed and the want to get their lead back. They succeeded! Two final half period goals at 32 and 39 minutes to take the score back to a two goal deficit. 4-2 MK.

The third was a tough battle with both teams lagging from the end to end play and both goalies serving up some world class dishes. Brick walls at both ends but it was the Cobras having to force the offence to chase the lead. The Hurricanes found the net again 14 minutes in to the 3rd to give them a comfortable lead. With the MK boys serving a 5 minute major the Cobras had a chance to continue their PP luck. We pulled the goalie with 2 minutes to make a 6 on 4 power play. The Hurricanes chased the puck around the zone and pulled off a lucky steal. A clearance all the way to the net saw them 6-2 in front. This is how the game ended. A bit better than last time we think. 🤣🤣

What a great game of hockey with some real passion and work ethic. Thank you so much for all the support from both sets of fans and guys working on the clock.
