🚨🚨🐍🐍 COBRAS GRIND OUT THE WIN AGAINST THE MK JESTERS!!! 🐍🐍🚨🚨

Saturday night hockey faced off at 23:30 against travelling side MK Jesters. Blink and you would miss it, the first Cobras goal coming in just 8 seconds after the first puck drop. A well worked full line goal coming from 68 Carl Bell with assists from 92 Ash Tyrrell and 81 Jak Smith. The Jesters managed to snipe an equaliser in the 9th minute but celebrations where short lived as 24 Joe Southall doubled the lead with the support from head coach 71 Rob Owen. With 5 minutes remaining in the first 68 Carl Bell fights for the turn over and is rewarded with his second of the night. Jesters repaid the favour of a short lived celebration with a response in just 41 seconds after the restart. The period finished 3-2 Cobras and we had a close game on our hands.

The second started in the Jesters favour. 2 minutes in and they equalise for the second time of the night. Even with some huge saves coming for the MK end the Cobras manage to take the lead once again with 27 Scott West and a helper from 92 Ash Tyrrell. Final half of the second well in motion and the jesters not only equalised but took the lead for the first time of the night with two quick succession goals. A final push saw the Cobras efforts pay dividends before the period was out with 39 Ash Cathcart putting the puck away in his first game this season for us. 81 Jak Smith with another assist. 5-5 with all to play for.

A 20 minute hockey game ahead of us and just 1 minute 33 in 4 Sean Doherty pinches in from the blue to tear it into the side netting through traffic. 81 Smith and 92 Tyrrell to collect the assists again. A boost of confidence and 2 minutes later saw 68 Carl Bell score his Hat-trick with the help from line mates 81 Jak Smith and 83 Danny Barker. Jesters knew they had to push hard and it paid off. They pull one back on the power play to make it 7-6 with 15 minutes still left in the final period. Both teams battled incredibly hard but the difference maker came with a double leg pad save from one post and back to the other from 90 Ian Gleadell. For his first Cobras game this couldn’t have come at a better time. The MK Jesters pulled their goal tender who had played fantastically but it was just not enough. The score finished 7-6 and the Cobras kept their 2018/19 season 100% record....... just.
